I mean, Bio30 can go on and be all the misery in the world rolled into one and the Premier League can be crazy and I could finally go and cliff myself for all I care. Arsenal. 2-1 Barcelona at the Emirates. Still completed half the number of passes Barcelona did, still didn't beat the masters at the possession game, still owed enough to sheer dumb luck, but we scored two goals in five minutes and holy everything, if there's anything holy it resembles wins like this. Xavi. Jack. Pique being unavailable for the next match. Cesc shoving Pique off the pitch, if accidentally. Koscielny. Being irritated when David Villa's goal goes in and it isn't ruled offside. Messi's hair not being shampoo-commercial perfect. Theo's running. Arshavin coming on for Song and scoring fifteen minutes later. Robin van Persie and scoring goal from a ridiculous angle and then running straight up to Arsene and hugging him. Having more shots on target than Barcelona. Almost-goals and fluffed chances. Szczesny. Captains Cesc and Xavi. Kos leaving the pitch in mint blue. Robin conducting the crowd- the crowd was amazing after that first Arsenal goal. The antimadridista banners going all the way to London. Pep and Arsene. Samir not being injured any more. Leo and Don Andres. The fact that all we need is a draw at the Camp Nou and we still won't park the bus. All we need is a draw at the Camp Nou- oh my gulay.

Still a cule, will probably always be a cule, but. But like hell will I stick with these gunners, Champions League and beyond.

And did I never say: Robin van Persie, when it comes to you I am a bit of an idiot? That's the way I say I love you. Yes, yes I have. Always worth saying again.

Well, technically yesterday, but still.

So Cesc was brought down in the penalty area and the Wigan defender was sent off and then Robin stepped up to take the penalty shot. And he sent the ball flying over the bar.

And ten minutes later he scores with his bleeding chocolate leg.

Robin van Persie, 21', 56', 86'. Arsenal 3-0 Wigan at the Emirates. I missed Robin's first goal because I was too busy writing about David Beckham being in the stands watching AND THEN THERE WERE TWO MORE. Wigan's goalkeeper was a miracle worker. I don't think I've seen less of our own goalkeeper* in a single game. I GOT TO SEE ARSENE SITTING DOWN AND SMILING DURING A GAME, PEOPLE. WHEN DOES THAT HAPPEN.

And Robin! I want to bring him to the center of time and keep him there, uninjured and playing like, playing like a Premier League player at the top of his form except when it comes to making penalty kicks but that's okay, and when I need reasons to fall back in love with the universe I can drag him out and find them right there.

I really am sleepy, but that game was more than more than worth it.

*I CAN SPELL HIS NAME. It's Szczesny. Saying it is something else entirely, so I guess the commentators should be grateful he didn't need to do much.

Xavi Pedro Villa Villa Jeffren. I woke up at four in the morning. I woke up at two in the morning from a dream of watching David Villa score in the clasico and had to go back to sleep because it was two hours till kick-off, I am never going to miss a clasico for the rest of my life, and every lost minute of sleep will more than be worth watching Barcelona eat Real Madrid alive, 5-0, today. I am going to download this match once I have access to a computer that can download videos, and every time I even begin to feel like life is not worth living I will go and watch David Villa's two consecutive goals and my mind will be changed, and I really do not want to be Sergio Ramos right now, even if being Sergio Ramos means being at Camp Nou for the game.

You have no idea just how much I'd give up for a seat at Camp Nou at four in the morning Philippine time. No. Idea. Heck, I'd have given up my figurative kingdom just to stand outside Camp Nou at the right time. But that's not important. This is: Barcelona 5-0 Madrid, and the thing about football is that while it can be, at least for ninety minutes, just about football, it doesn't have to be to be fucking glorious.

All right. Step away from the keyboard, put the gun on the table, this is not about happiness. Drama starts now, but at least it starts with a win. Happy 111th, FC Barcelona.

We don't have much in the way of a summer break, and we have one Calculus exam and one book report to go before we can finally finally leave this sem behind, but hell yes Holy Week vacation.

Belated happy birthday Vince. Have I ever said that I love, love, love Block 13?

No sane man would agree to sign a thousand books and be hugged ten thousand times in the span of five hours. Well, no sane person would spend two thousand pesos and wait five hours just for the chance to meet one of their favorite authors, especially if they had an exam the next day. At least our hands aren't going to be begging us to cut them off, but still.

No sane man would sign books till long after the air conditioners were turned off and the mall the signing was in began going to sleep.

Thank goodness Mr. Gaiman is maybe one of the most patient people in the world, in addition to being insane in just the right way. Thank you, and if you ever find yourself with too much time on your hands drop by and we'll give you the grand walking tour of Manila and you will probably be squished like you have never been squished before.

---

94.5 out of 100 is not a bad score for a BioLab exam, considering the previous day was spent at a book signing. That's all.

Well, no, it isn't all. Our diorama is the best diorama ever known to man, even in the absence of three-dimensional normal fish, our manta ray stayed cooperative, we spent BioLec time watching X-Men 2, at hindi na nakabitay yung sea turtle. Also, Diosdado Macapagal also has a mole.

And, dear Calculus: I understand that you are necessary, that the lessons you impart are part of the things we ought to know, the same way you ought to know that reptiles re not amphibians no matter what class you are teaching. That doesn't mean I have to like you. I don't. But iMed and Sir Mong make you occasionally awesome.

Belated happy birthday, Mother. :D

Thank you Alexeis for the program. XD

Sometimes pictures are worth a thousand words, and sometimes a thousand pictures can't beat just being there, especially if the thereness of everything was in the music, and especially if you had just finished taking a math exam that didn't make you feel like an idiot.

And because I have no words for the music, the voices, the leaving home after six and wondering if I was going to be late and getting sick of relishing my luck not to run into any traffic due to the long waiting time, the late-night dinners with old classmates and new classmates no matter how sick you ought to be at seeing their faces, the laughter, the misadventures of the automatic curtains, the city of Manila at night, and because the pictures are all on someone else's camera, I will stop talking now.

LadyMed 2009: Hiwaga could have been renamed The Wit and Wisdom of UPCM Students and it wouldn't have made a difference. Well, no, not really. Tanggalin mo yung wisdom, tama na.

But really. Second runner-up! What the hell do we care that there were only five contestants? They were brilliant. All right. They weren't brilliant, but they had more entertainment value than anything on local TV and most everything on cable combined, and they had common sense, and they were College of Med, but most of all they were able to raise over 100,000 Philippine pesos.

And one of them was OUR CLASSMATE. That, too.

Congratulations, Jio. :D

There's something about going back to your old school, even though you've only been away from it half a year, and seeing your old classmates, even though you see quite a lot of them every day, and getting to return to your most unfavorite gym, even though it's still leaking from almost everywhere. Either there's really something about it all, or I'm turning into an alumna.

This is what happens if all the LU2 students wish you luck with your dep ex. The dep ex gets cancelled. It meant riding the train home, which meant GETTING ON AT RECTO TERMINAL STATION.

And so for the first time in recent history I got a seat on the train. When I grow up I want to own the entire LRT system.

So Terence wanted to know what would happen if he sprayed tear gas in an aircondotioned classroom, and guess what he did. We had to run out of the room, coughing like crazy. For a moment there I missed our beloved sili juice.

Yes, when you enter politics, more often than not, you have to get your hands dirty. It isn't just politics, really. If you want to get something done on a large scale, if you want to change things, really change things, whether from the top or from the sidelines, you will sooner or later have to think in shades of grey, and compromise, and sometimes you will have to resort to means that will make you sick later on. And all you can do about it is hope like hell that the good you end up doing will outweigh the evil.

And there's the other thing about politics. If you know what needs to be done, you will also tend to shrink away from the duty, because, well, because you know what needs to be done.

Ain't that true. being mad is the easiest thing in the world. I'm not speaking from experience here. Being mad means that you have no responsibilities whatsoever, not to the world, not to the future, not to yourself.

Language, ladies and gentlemen, is what people make it to be, or use it as. It's dependent on who uses it, and it's a wonder how that small tidbit goes over the heads of teachers and dictionary-writers nationwide.

We left the med caf out of courtesy to the older, more stressed students, and as if by agreement we all ended up in the GAB classroom we knew was unoccupied because that was where our math class was supposed to be, eating and studying and providig support for the much-reviled adage great minds think alike.

If I spend tonight watching Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series blame Clint and Niko. Likewise if I fail to finish the NatSci exam before eleven.

I think that when I am excited I am incapable of writing anything coherent. Yes, I get drunk on cancelled exams, train rides, and rain. No, I wasn't talking about being mad from experience. I really wasn't.

So I am here at Theias house, the headquarters for all Muonster projects, editing Emmans four-page-long article, watching Dondon create layouts so reminiscent of Candy magazine we feel he is their layout artist gone incognito, and bugging King Cruz to let me see his article.

And its awesome. XD

---

Editors note:

It has been awesome.

Writing this sitting at the rectangular table on the second floor of Theias house, sleepy and unable to forget the truckloads of requirements in the days to come, I would still like to say, it has been awesome. We know opportunity costs as well as, or better than, anyone. This has been worth the hours of sleep lost from all the editing and layouting, the electricity used by the power of four laptops and two desktops over a span of two days and an overnight, the time that could have been spent on math (but would really have been spent on computer games), five sandwiches, a dinner, and the chance to see Chris Tiu in person, for me, at any rate.

It has been awesome, and heres to hoping you find reading it as awesome as as we found making it was.
