Me: Sa Milan.
Mother: Hindi ka naman nanonood ng mga laro nila.
Me: Nanonood ako, tulog ka na nga lang.
Mother: Tapos aangal-angal ka na sumasakit ulo mo.
Me: I'm an Intarmed student! I'm not supposed to sleep! I may as well enjoy it!
Mother: Bahala ka na nga.

Also, talking about the Italian national team of 1982.

Me: And Antonio Cabrini was good-looking. And a really good defender. Who was good-looking. As in his nickname was bell'Antonio as in beautiful Antonio because he was good-looking. As in the newspapers called him Italy's boyfriend. He was good-looking.
Mother: Do you have pictures?

Look: I will always be the first to admit that I have better parents than I deserve. My dad gets up before six in the morning to text me the results of the Barcelona matches I don't get to watch. And he's a Madridista.

Five days a week you are in Manila and you get a picture of the skyline from NatGeo. Mahiya ka sa sarili mo. I HAVE A PICTURE JUST LIKE THAT ONE. ON MY PHONE. Only I can't get it to the computer because I am computer illiterate.
