ang sakit sa katawan ng UPCAT.
Aug. 3rd, 2008 09:26 pmIsipin mo yun. Limang oras kang nakaupo lang.
I learn from my mistakes. I was so nervous the night before the Pisay second screening I wasn't able to sleep. That was a mistake, because when I took the test the next day I fell asleep in the middle of the math test. I only woke up when the proctor said "You have five minutes left". I looked at my paper and found that I had thirty more items to answer.
So I decided my approach was wrong, decided not to worry about the UPCAT at all, ignored the review classes everyone else took during the summer because really, we knew all that already, and while I can understand paying for learning new things I cannot for the love of Zeus fathom why people would pay for lessons in what they already know. So there. The night before I read Night Shift. And slept. And found that I couldn't sleep anyway.
The next day, which is today, my eyelids were drooping. By the time I got to question 285 I was thinking fifteen questions na lang! fourteen! thirteen! kahit na ano na, basta matapos na!!!
I wasn't able to sleep in the classroom, though.
Next time I take an entrance exam, I'll be sure to take sleeping pills the night before.

Only today did I realise that the advantage we're supposed to have, is real. Either that or that we're just plain all really smart. I'd like to think both, and that the advantage is only in practice.
Kasi ba naman, paglabas namin at naririnig namin yung mga taong nagsasabing ang hirap ng math at science parts, natatawa na lang kami. XD
Walang trigonometry at walang combinatorics. May Geom., tinatanong yung measure ng angle tapos given yung measures ng inscribed arcs. I added the measures of the arcs. It looked too large, so I didvided it by two. Lo and behold, when I checked my Geom. notes later that day, it turns out that I was right.
And the science part was just plain odd. It was a mix of common sense, IS, very easy stoichiometry, and genetics. And the part at the end about currents that no one knows how to answer in the formal way. Well, Paeng derived a formula. (Side note: hindi raw natapos ni Paeng yung math, sabi niya. He skipped three items. And he thought that when the question ended in a colon it was asking for the ratio and not the answer.)
My parents took me out to Shang afterwards, and I know that The Dark Knight was good because sleepy as I was I was not even tempted to sleep through it. (Naalala ko tuloy si Jer.) The Joker is nice. He can make a pencil disappear.
The thing is, he's right. Except that no one acknowledges that because doing so would lead to doom. And nobody likes doom.
