well met by moonlight
Feb. 8th, 2012 04:29 pm"Dude," Chris said. "That's my curse. Whenever I have sex with somebody I get, uh. In love with them?" He pulled a quick rueful grimace, one corner of his mouth curling down. "Not permanently. Just a little. However, at least that means I'm always still friends with people I've put my dick in. Whereas you -- I don't get this thing of yours, that you do."
"Admittedly," Zach said, watching him, "people I fuck, if they like me too much, they tend to be driven insane, like they become alcoholics, or monks, or marathon runners -- "
"Deviants, basically," said Chris. "You're, like. A succubus." He widened his eyes and made an ooga-booga flutter with his fingers.
"Incubus," Leonard said from above them, re-seating himself next to Zach and stretching his legs out. "Zachary would be an incubus. Succubi are female."
"Ah-ha," Chris said, nodding gratefully at him. "Thank you. Keeping us on track. How's Susan?"
"Perfect," Leonard said, and smiled, like a man with a secret. "My wife is perfect."
Chris looked back at Zach and tilted his head. "See?" he said. "Love's nice."
"Sure, for other people," Zach said.
"Bah," Leonard said, swatting the air good-naturedly. "You're infants. What do you know about anything."
You guys. You guys. I think I have just read the fic of my heart. It is RPF for a fandom I know absolutely nothing about- this is not an exaggeration. My knowledge of Star Trek amounts to: 1.) Kirk and Spock are married, and 2.) pon farr. Which is a sign that I have spent, well, more than ten seconds in fandom, so okay.
The point is, fic of my heart. It's Chris Pine/Zachary Quinto Star Trek Reboot RPF. It has banter and trouble with expressing itself as utter disdain for normal people relationships and gratuitous literary references and banter and an ensemble cast and Leonard Nimoy cameos and Phil Collins and banter and I think everyone else has read it already, but two years late counts as early for me? But this is for the people who haven't. Don't know the fandom? IT DOESN'T MATTER. I don't know the fandom, I don't know the people, I don't know whom either of them play. I didn't even get the Leonard Nimoy cameo at first- I read through it grinning like a fool and thinking that I knew who that awesome dude was, it was just not clicking. (Thankfully it did.) It seriously does not matter. Today we had a robbery and an exam and then I read this and laughed my head off.
