All right, so for the past few days (weeks, months) I've been walking along Pedro Gil mulling over the state of my mental health and thinking that if some divine voice spoke to me from above telling me that I would never get to graduate as a doctor of medicine in 2016 and subsequently rule the world I would not give a damn. It was true. This morning I would not have given a damn. But then Dr. Cordero came swooping in being idealistic and smart and sensible all at the same time, and boom. I'm done for.

Maria Orosa invented banana ketchup. Life is sometimes brilliant like that. It doesn't make up for anything, but it makes the entire thing worth going through.
Me, I am getting tired of people yelling about everything that is wrong with the Philippines without acknowledging that: 1.) hey, we're part of the problem, too, and this is why, and this is how; and 2.) hey, there are solutions at work, however slow, and we could do things to mske these solutions more effective. If you aren't interested in 2.), shut up and try to be a decent person in the ways you can, and you might get used to the idea after a while. Because you can go and shove your knowledge up your rectum if you're not going to do anything with it, not even use it to batter yourself into something resembling a palatable human being, and not palatable in the sense of when the revolution comes the first thing we do is eat all the lawyers.

AND I CAN'T BELIEVE I COMPLETELY FORGOT. Happy fortieth birthday yesterday, Mister. Here's to a league and cup double and to being Barcelona's Sir Alex (only, you know, not Sir Alex), hair or no hair.

I have the maturity of Zlatan Ibrahimovic trying to rile up someone he wants to rile up, and failing.
And holy carp, why does everything involving the magical comb of Joshua Torres work out in real life the way it does in my head, and holy carp, but I feel alive.
