on writing?
Oct. 26th, 2007 10:53 pmI remember reading from somewhere- I don't remember where- that all who write have different reasons to. Some write because they are forced to. Some write for the money. Some write to inspire others, or to air their stories and opinions. And some write because they have nothing better to do with their time. None of these will last. The only ones who will are those who write simply because, if they didn't, they would burst.
I more or less believe this, even though it may not be reflected in society- or in our home reading assignments. Well, most of the time.
Writing is a boring job. This is wrong: it is not even a job. It is trapping the limitless figemnts of fantasy in mortal words that fall flat when set on a page. It is creating histories and events and people who could almost have been real and preserving them in time. It is giving pulse and breath and blood and life to letters and phrases. It is allowing your stories to consume you. It is losing your life.

See you tomorrow!
