levityThings I learned from Easter Vigil Mass, part 1: dambuhala = Filipino word for leviathan. Say it. Listen to how it rolls off the tongue like a swearword. Dambuhala. The Filipino language is an amazing thing.
And really, I love Easter Vigil mass like no one's business. It's two hours and five readings longer and all glory, the kind that you can't look at, but will, but is for you. Fire and water and crazy structured ritual, down to when the lights turn on, I can't not love it even if I tried.
So if you celebrate it, happy Easter.
