levityLike hundreds of thousands of other students around the Philippines, but still. How could I have imagined college to be boring? How?
I went back to Pisay, feeling very much the alumna, even considering the fact that I'm technically not yet cleared and still have to give Ma'am Chupungco our revised paper back. It was familiar, it was different, and it was fun, despite the fact that though you know that most of the faces you look out for are gone you still however unconsciously look for them. Someone without much common sense chose to spend what was probably quite a lot compared to the benefits involved on pieces of tarp reminding students to observe silence and follow the caf rules and regulations, but that's okay. It's just tarp, after all- in other words, it's easier to remove that a Coke-themed caf wall.
Our professors are awesome. The history prof's fund of useless information exceeds mine by a whole, whole lot. Trepanning! I never thought anyone else cared about trepanning. And UP insults for the win. I wonder- in this class, what will prove to be the height of ignorance? The math prof has the aura of Sir Nat. It's an aura anyone who has studied for long enough in Pisay can recognise. (‘Sir, mataas ba kayo magbigay ng grades?’ ‘Meron bang ganoon?’) At natatawa silang lahat at nagmumura yung Kom professor. And the philo professor is very concerned about justice.
May student lounge pala kami! Naka-aircon pa! Sana lang kung wala siya sa kabilang dulo ng mundo (in other words, kung hindi siya katabi ng College of Med, which kind of defeats the purpose). And- and this is the first time anyone has ever said anything to this effect before- the caf makes better brownies than our student lounge does.
In between our University Registrar and our College of Arts and Sciences is the Supreme Court. Is that what you call obstruction of justice?
