if I don't get some shelter
Aug. 31st, 2011 08:50 pmThis is the really wonderful thing about football: when I entered my MDL this morning for our OS201 exam Kevin Llamas said, "Jill!" and I knew exactly what he meant. We had an exam in ten minutes and I knew nothing about vitamins and my knowledge of all the other topics was so tenuous every single second/third/xth glance at the accumulated notes seemed to count exponentially more than it would have the second prior. The ten minutes ended up being spent exchanging half-sentences we'd finish for each other and one-word exclamations and insults to Wayne Rooney. (He watched the replay in addition to the actual game, because he turned off his TV before Robin scored, and he wanted to see the second goal. It was the first time my sticking around to watch the entire thing seemed like the sensible option.) There are so many things we have trouble communicating with language even though we practically take classes in trying, but I can say "Arsenal" with the right sort of emphasis and a flailing hand gesture and be understood.
