Yesterday my dad sent me this article about putting the stat in the football, and it really does not surprise me in the least that one of the first to crunch the numbers when looking at players was Arsene Wenger. Explains how he unearths his kids, at any rate. John W. Henry's known for playing moneyball in MLB, so I guess we'll see how Liverpool pans out.
(I like numbers. I was never good at them, but I like them, and I like knowing that there's a way to quantify what goes on on the pitch, if the whole assessment thing is about knowing which numbers to look at. And now, back to work.)
