from neoplasia to petroleum.

Ang weird pala kung nag-aayos ka ng papers ng iba. Yung methods, intro, at RRL na pinaghirapan mo ng isang taon nawawala, and you find you have to get used to their project as though it were your own.

isipin mo yun, pinakinggan ako ni soulmate ko.

Yung soulmate na baliw at may deodorant hairdo, pero soulmate pa rin. XD

I apologise, Igi. Really, I do. No one can serve as a better video regulatory board.

---

So yes, to use a very old pun, we watched Watchmen. I feel like just talking about everything, classic-teenage-blog-style, but what the hell. I think the SciScho articles are getting to me.

Last night I had a nightmare. I dreamt I went to school for clearance and forgot my books at home. My nightmares are always sane, for some reason.

We cleared our books. Iniwan ko books ko sa taas, kasi ang init doon. Bottled water coffee works wonders on the nervous system. Tapos nakakainis si Maam Cion. I sat in on what was in theory the Pinoy removals only to hear my name mentioned in conjunction with the words hindi, nagsubmit, ng, book, reports, ni, and isa. Dapat manonood kami nina DJ at Dondon ng math removals, if only for the cheerleaders. (Later on we were to watch something, if not more entertaining, at least less violent.) Alvin crammed our project. Karen watched over my books. I remembered that I would never be out of work to do. Dapat kasama ko si Kate umalis ng Pisay kasi pareho pa kaming pumunta sa yearbook comm meeting, kaso iniwan niya ako. I rode a pedicab to Trinoma all by myself. No, that is wrong, the driver was with me. He stopped the pedicab in front of the parking lot. I had to cross the street to get to Trinoma. I didnt know how to cross streets.

That being said, I didnt know how to get to Yellow Cab either. At least when I got there there was still pizza left. Tapos ang tagal namin sa candy stand wala naman kaming binili. Wala kasi silang gummy bears. Lahat ng tao nasa Trinoma, pati sina Maan Dawn at Sir Crisologo.

Watchmen was awesome. Even with Emman and Cum covering my face half the time. XD I had fun picking out comics lines, making corny Pisay jokes, and scaring Emman by demonstrating what Rorscharch did with a cleaver and a kidnappers head.

---

For some reason my wanting-to-tell-the-story drive ran out. It happens. Oh well. XD

argh.

So it's the last perio week we'll ever have and not only am I not studying, I'm writing about not studying. But I need Chem. results, or else. Well, or else I fail. So I'm here wishing the last quarter of Pisay Chem were easier, or at least easier to uno, or at least even easier to pass, but no.

Which means that my Pinoy grade isn't the only one going down the toilet. Figuratively, of course, but then again you can't literally flush a grade down a toilet. Well, I suppose you could, if you were really imaginative, but then again if you're that good you'd be smart enough to get grades that should not be flushed down the toilet under any circumstances, or at least smart enough to know better than to put your energy into flushing your grades down the toilet. Or at the very least smart enough to spare your eyesight and skip over that long sentence there.

so, what did you learn on the last day of classes?

Well, I learned that Sir Vlad Econ was supposed to be easy, that for all my study I didn't know what the mean value theorem was after all, that you have to take removals for STR if your project doesn't have results, that we don't have to take removals for STR no matter what everyone else says, that having EJ in your English group ensures audience participation, that Sir Monty defines "gothic" as "wearing black clothes", that gravitons can win over gluons if the gluon team has Benjie in it, that if you have an excuse letter you can do a lot, but not everything, and that COs aren't as evil as they're made out to be, or at least aren't evil incarnate.

So. The last regular school day of my high school career ends, if there is any such thing as a regular school day to begin with. And it ends. (Here I am sorely tempted to say "not with a bang but a whimper", but, well, no use saying I didn't, or will not, say it, because I just did.)

a love letter

Dear Calculus,

So it ends.

We both know that this is where the ten months we have spent together have been leading to, but still. During those ten months, I have learned a lot- I won't deny it. I learned how to integrate functions, how to get their derivatives, how to study- really study, not just try out a few problems just to see if you can still solve them- for math. How it feels to get an over-perfect on a math long test, how you should never forget the "+C" part of the integrated function or else, how to maintain a modicum of common sense even though you have absolutely no idea how a 256/15 popped up on your paper, how to laugh when you see a 4/25 score, in red ink, on your own paper instead of someone else's. I have learned a lot. Maybe I can even say that I am beginning to understand you, after all this time.

It had to end, if only because that is the way that life will always go, if only because if nothing did we would all be stuck doing STR for the rest of our lives. But maybe, if you had made yourself even just a little more comprehensible in the first place, it wouldn't have had to end like this.

UCC has a Soxhlet extractor.

So I was pulled out of Pinoy for my Intarmed interview, which means I managed to escape from my Chem practical test, and my English group managed to escape from having to escape from having to put on a play today. The traffic was awful. Wala na ang bahay ni Mabini. Walang Oblation ang UP Manila. Pagdating ko ay nagulat ako at nakita ko doon si Jio. I have this feeling that I ended up spewing nonsense in the middle of my interview.

On the way home I saw a logo on a building that read YWCA.
Me: Anong nangyari diyan? Bat nabaliktad yung M sa YMCA?
Mother Dearest: ... women ang ibig sabihin ng W diyan, Jill...
Dad: Buti na lang hindi ganyan ang tinatanong sa interview!

I agree with him.

---

So our deadline was extended. Which means I am still writing and editing articles, till now, and that everyone else will have to go through another sleepless night. Good luck us. XD

this is hardcore cramming.

So I am here at Theias house, the headquarters for all Muonster projects, editing Emmans four-page-long article, watching Dondon create layouts so reminiscent of Candy magazine we feel he is their layout artist gone incognito, and bugging King Cruz to let me see his article.

And its awesome. XD

---

Editors note:

It has been awesome.

Writing this sitting at the rectangular table on the second floor of Theias house, sleepy and unable to forget the truckloads of requirements in the days to come, I would still like to say, it has been awesome. We know opportunity costs as well as, or better than, anyone. This has been worth the hours of sleep lost from all the editing and layouting, the electricity used by the power of four laptops and two desktops over a span of two days and an overnight, the time that could have been spent on math (but would really have been spent on computer games), five sandwiches, a dinner, and the chance to see Chris Tiu in person, for me, at any rate.

It has been awesome, and heres to hoping you find reading it as awesome as as we found making it was.

okay, so neoplastic corals are harder to find than both good men and good English scripts combined.

Our corals died.

Well, some of them, at any rate.

Okay, so Im a fool who thought she could actually succeed in not just working with corals but curing an incurable major disease- who thought she could succeed where the qualified scientists failed. So I lost our Chem. results and my labgown and I went up the four flights of stairs to the math room last Friday, problem set in hand, only to forget to actually put it on the shelf. So I have a yearbook write-up to finish and an English play to direct and an Econ magazine to edit and I am down with sleepiness and the flu. Could the world just give me a break, even just for one day?

---

Augustus gave me cupcakes. XD The look on his face when I walked up to him right after our Bio was priceless.

Kates expression when she saw I was still alive was more priceless, if for exactly the opposite reason. XD

a good man is hard to find...

... but not as hard as a decent English script.

I have no idea how we're going to get a car. Since we obviously can't get a car, due to financial, legal, and physical constraints, among other things, we have to find a way to get a "car effect"- we have to find a way to give the impression that we are in a car, or at least that we're trying to show that we're in a car, without resorting to one of those cardboard cutout things.

And then we have to make the car brake suddenly, and flip over, and we have to have everyone emerging from it, sort-of slowly, if not gravely wounded then at least rattled due to the fact that the car they were riding turned over.

And I don't know how you're supposed to show that time has passed in a play, without making it drag. It's easy if your play works the way Afraid of Roaches did- if it is simple, quick-paced, and held together not by the conversations but by the actions. It would also help if your play were not based off a short story where subtlety and symbol is everything.

It's a good thing I wasn't sick when the Ramayana rolled about, or else Sodium would have gotten a lot of side notes along with their script.
