GUESS WHO SCORED A HATTRICK TODAY.
Jan. 23rd, 2011 01:44 amWell, technically yesterday, but still.
So Cesc was brought down in the penalty area and the Wigan defender was sent off and then Robin stepped up to take the penalty shot. And he sent the ball flying over the bar.
And ten minutes later he scores with his bleeding chocolate leg.
Robin van Persie, 21', 56', 86'. Arsenal 3-0 Wigan at the Emirates. I missed Robin's first goal because I was too busy writing about David Beckham being in the stands watching AND THEN THERE WERE TWO MORE. Wigan's goalkeeper was a miracle worker. I don't think I've seen less of our own goalkeeper* in a single game. I GOT TO SEE ARSENE SITTING DOWN AND SMILING DURING A GAME, PEOPLE. WHEN DOES THAT HAPPEN.
And Robin! I want to bring him to the center of time and keep him there, uninjured and playing like, playing like a Premier League player at the top of his form except when it comes to making penalty kicks but that's okay, and when I need reasons to fall back in love with the universe I can drag him out and find them right there.
I really am sleepy, but that game was more than more than worth it.
*I CAN SPELL HIS NAME. It's Szczesny. Saying it is something else entirely, so I guess the commentators should be grateful he didn't need to do much.
